Sara Goldschmied (Vicenza) and Eleonora Chiari (Roma) founded the goldiechiari duo in 2001. Since 2014, they have been operating under the name Goldschmied & Chiari in Milan.

They participated in the third edition of the XXXX side event of the LIII Venice Biennale, in 2009, and in the Quinquennale Nanjing International Art Festival, New Baijia Lake Museum, a The Fear Society collateral event of LIII Biennale di Venezia, 2009, partecipate in Quinquennale Dublin Contemporary, in Videozone; Biennale Video of Tel Aviv, Biennale Sletto & Corso, Séléstat and partecipate in Quadriennale di Roma .

In 2015, they were selected by the National Museum of Women in the Arts (NMWA), headquartered in Washington DC, and the Museo del 900 for the biennial exhibition entitled Women to Watch, 2015. Organic Matters.

In 2012, they won the Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art award as best young Italian artists. They were also candidates for the 2015 Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Creative Arts Fellowship, and in 2017 they won the Arte in Canitere award established by Museion, Museum of Contemporary Art, in Bolzano.
